Jens was born in Inglewood, Ca, in 1969.

8 months old his family moved back to Germany, where he  grew up and studied abstract and fine art.

In 1994 he decided to come back to the US , where he began working for the Warner Bros. Scenic Art Department (working on movies like Spiderman, Batman, Charlie's Angels, A Series of Unfortunate Events just to name a few).

Since it always has been his desire to pursue his personal work, he finally started doing so after 10 years of work for the Studios.

In 1994 he exclusively started working in oil on different surfaces.

His compositions although mostly very simple always try to emphasize the core-meaning of each individual work, so does the choice of color and color value, even in seemingly simple tasks like paintings for a children's book (like those displayed here on ETGalleries). He draws his  inspiration from certain events that occur wether it is personal or not doesn't make too much of a difference, or it could be a headline, seen somewhere, another painting or the awesomeness of nature itself. He usually gets an immediate inner picture of the actual painting which develops in his mind, sometimes over years.Those "inner images" stay with him until put out on canvas.

Some of his fine art can be found at homes of art collectors throughout Germany and in the western parts of the USA.

It also appeared at recent shows in Los Angeles, Ca  and Manhattan , NY.
